I get a pain at the back of my neck after doing leg squats on the smith machine. Does anyone have this problem? Any suggestions to help prevent it?

Like what Jeff said, try using a pad or change the positioning of where the bar sits. If this doesn’t work, you may want to try a progression and squat just using a barbell. Smith machines are great for starting to 'learn' an exercise, but it does limit your natural range of motion (it only moves in one plane). If you squat with a barbell, the bar is allowed to then move in all three planes of motion, thus letting your body move more 'naturally’ and potentially with less pain.

Use a bar pad or try putting the bar further down, so it rests across your rear delts. Is called a low-bar squat.

Like what Jeff said place the bar lower so that it isn't resting on your neck and the vertebrae that stick out right there. The bar should be resting on "the shelf" of your traps/rear deltoid muscles. Also, on squat days I try not to wear a tank top that has my bare skin behind my neck/upper back exposed so it isn't touching the Smith Machine barbell naked giving it any reason to cause pain. I'll simply wear a tshirt so that the barbell is touching the cotton and not trapping my skin just in case.

Make sure you are placing the bar properly. If you are unsure, be sure to ask a trainer or a staff member at Anytime Fitness. Also using a pad may help with the pressure.

People start working on different health machine which result for the perfect working. The ideal machines may not show the perfect result and cause pain in body. People desire online cv writing services as it show the accurate and good result for the record of people.
