beta blockers and calorie burning: does one lower the other?

Was recently put on a beta blocker for anxiety and hypertension (unknown cause). While working out for the first time in a month, it dawned on me.. knowing your heart rate is essential when calculating calories burned during working out, and since Beta Blockers decrease heart rate, does that also decrease the amount of calories burned in a work out?
